Join Victoria Montgomery-Brown, CEO/Cofounder of Big Think and author of “Digital Goddess: The Unfiltered Lessons of a Female Entrepreneur”

Women today are starting more businesses than men, but they face a playing field that is not always fair, predictable, or politically correct. Per Visa’s 2020 State of Female Entrepreneurship report, while 79% of female entrepreneurs in the U.S. say they feel more empowered than they did five years ago, nearly 70% still report difficulty in obtaining the funding they need to succeed. In 2018, female founders received only 2.2% of US venture capital, and women led only 24 of the Fortune 500 companies.

In the upcoming book DIGITAL GODDESS: The Unfiltered Lessons of a Female Entrepreneur (HarperCollins Leadership; October 6, 2020), Big Think founder Victoria Montgomery-Brown digs deep to share her story about starting the company, offering aspiring entrepreneurs a candid, compelling, and practical guide to building a business from the ground up.

Lessons Victoria will discuss from the book include:

  • Why raising money is a poker game—learn how to play.
  • Embrace failures and setbacks and use your fear to achieve your goals.
  • Why asking for help—both professionally and personally—is crucial to your growth.
  • How to navigate and overcome inevitable burnout and guard your mental health and well-being.
  • Why it’s vital to choose mentors who have your back and hold you accountable.
